This was the fifth Cup event (called Benson & Hedges World Cup) and was held from 22 February to 25 March 1992 in Australia and New Zealand. This was the first time day/night matches was used and the first tournament to use white cricket balls and colored team uniforms. The different stadiums in Australia and New Zealand were venues for the 39 matches played by 9 teams and it was for the first time that South Africa joined the tournament. Ground at Perth, Eden Park in Auckland, Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, Pukekura Park at New Plymouth in New Zealand, Seddon Park at Hamilton in New Zealand, Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia, Bellerive Oval in Hobart in Australia, Harrup Park in Mackay in Australia, Brisbane Cricket Ground in Australia, Adelaide Oval stadium in Australia, Basin Reserve at Wellington in New Zealand, McLean Park at Napier, Jade Stadium at Christchurch in New Zealand, Eastern Oval in Ballarat in Australia, Manuka Oval at Canberra, Carisbrook at Dunedin in New Zealand, Berri Oval in Australia and Lavington Sports Oval at Albury in Australia. The final was played between Pakistan and England in Melbourne, Australia. Pakistan made 249 runs in 50 overs for 6 Wickets, compar4ed to England's total of 227 runs in 49.2 all out. Pakistan won by 22 Runs Scores: Pakistan 249/6 off 50 overs (Imran Khan 72); England 227 off 49.2 overs (NH Fairbrother 62).
