IPL 2011

The IPL(Indian Premier League) was a conventional approach by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in the year 2007. This form of league brought a revolution in Indian Cricket and now it is extended to this year 2011. IPL season 4 or IPL 2011 has entered its domain this year with the auction of players from all around the world. 
IPL 2011 is Indian Premiere League season 4 played at India.IPL 2011 is eagerly awaited as IPL 2010 was a massive hit. IPL season 3 had total 8 teams playing against each other but IPL 4 have 10 teams competing each other .

IPL 4th edition is going to be much different from other.Many people will be looking forward to IPL 2011 as the next season to cheer for after all that happened during IPL 2010 The tournament will start with the game between Team Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) on Aprial 8th at Chepauk Stadium,Chennai and tournament will ends with the Final on May 28 at Chepauk Stadium,Chennai. There will be total 10 venues will be used for the tournament. Indi Commandos Kerala and Pune Warriors are the 2 new teams introduces this year in IPL 4.

Total of 74 competitions will be viewed this season as there were 2 new teams introduced in IPL 2011. In the previous season there were 60 Matches and this season the number has drastically increased as the teams will play against each other in a dual Round-Robin format. The playoff is a new format initiated instead of Knockout. Super Over will be determining the winner incase of a tie. The top 3 teams from playoff will succeed for the next 2011 Champions League Twenty20.

30 Players has been included in each team with 9 million US dollar as a maximum to spend for the purchasing. The previous teams in the IPL 3 were dispersed as 2 new teams were included in this season. Each team had the capability to retain 4 players from their previous squad, with 3 Indian Players.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

India beat Sri Lanka to win ICC World Cup 2011
After 14 Years,Cricket World Cup is finally returned to Asia (India-Sri Lanka-Bangladesh).Last time World Cup was hosted in Asia in the year 1996 and Sri Lanka emerge winners of the ICC Wills World Cup. Unfortunately, Pakistan will not host any games of 2011 world cup,because of security concern.

ICC has tried their best to shorten the 2011 world cup as compared to 2007 world cup. So there will be 49 number of games will be played in 2011 as compared to 51 in 2007. Also the length of the tournament will be shorten by a week. Out of forty nine games, India will host 29 matches, Sri Lanka will host 12 matches and 8 games will be hosted by Bangladesh.India will host one quarter final in Ahmedabad, one semi final in Mohali and Final of World Cup 2011 in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. While Sri Lanka will host the 2nd quarterfinal and 1st semi final in R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo and Bangladesh will host 1st and 3rd quarterfinal in Mirpur, Dhaka. 
 
Fourteen teams will participate in 2011 World Cup and divided into two groups each containing seven teams. Group A contains Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Canada while Group B includes India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands.
The tournament will start with the game between India and Bangladesh on February 19th at Mirpur, Dhaka and tournament will ends with the Final on April 2 in renovated Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. There will be total 13 venues will be used for the tournament. First quarter final will be played on March 23rd in Mirpur, while second quarter final will be played on March 24th in Ahmedabad. Third quarterfinal will be played in Mirpur on 25th March and fourth quarterfinal will be hosted by Sri Lanka in Colombo on March 26th 2011. First semi final will be played on 29th March in Colombo and second semi final will be played on March 30th in Mohali.

Kenya Team

The Kenyan Cricket Team is the official cricket team of Kenya.Kenya was previously playing cricket with Tasmania and Uganda in a team, which is collectively called East Africa. East Africa has been participated in the 1975 world cup.

In 1981 Kenya got associate membership of the ICC.

Kenya team is considered as best non-Test playing nation in the world, Kenya have participated in three editions of world cup in 1996,1999,2003 and 2007.

Kenya team is considered one of the strongest of the associate member nations of the ICC, since reaching the semi-final of the 2003 Cricket World Cup.

Kenya has qualified for the 1996 world cup because sue to they are the runners up 1994 ICC Trophy. They have not well in world cup matches but they made major upsets by defeating the West Indies by 73 runs. After that World Cup

Kenya had given their outstanding performance in 2003 world cup by defeating three Test Playing nations and surprised entered into the semi-final.

This was the nineth world cup event and was held from from 13 March to 28 April 2007 . first time it had been held in the West Indies.
The tournament consisted of 16 teams, including all 10 Test playing nations and 6 qualifiers.The 10 Test match playing countries plus Kenya qualified automatically. The other five teams qualified via the 2005 ICC Trophy. The field of sixteen teams is the largest ever for the Cricket World Cup.
The 16 teams will be allocated into four groups of four. Within each group, the teams will play each other in a round-robin format and the top two teams will advance to a 'Super 8' round. These eight teams will again play in a round-robin format, except that they will not play the other team that advanced from their respective group. The top four teams from the Super 8 round will advance to the semi-finals.
The first hat-trick plus one (4 wickets in 4 balls) in World Cup history was by Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga against South Africa.
The Final was played between Australia and Sri Lanka 28th april in Kensington Oval, Bridgetown,West Indies.
Australia batted first and made 281 in 39 overs by losing only 4 wickes. In reply Sri Lanka 215 in 36 overs by losing 8 wickets. Australia were champions after beating Sri Lanka by 52 runs.

This was the eighth Cup event and was held from 9 February to 24 March. 2003 in South Africa,Zimbabwe,Kenya was the first time that the Cricket World Cup had been held in Africa

The tournament followed the format introduced in the 1999 Cricket World Cup with the teams divided into 2 groups, and the top three in each group qualifying for the Super Sixes stage.

The tournament saw upsets in the first round with South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies and England failing to make it to Super Sixes stage while Zimbabwe and Kenya made it to Super Sixes stage and Kenya, a non-Test playing nation, made the semi-finals of the tournament.

It saw the number of participating teams increase to 14, comprising of Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe, along with the ICC Trophy Qualifiers - Canada, Namibia, and the Netherlands. A total of 54 matches were played in the tournament (the most in World Cup history so far).

The Match was held in various venues in the three countries. While The Wanderers, Newlands, Kingsmead, St Georges Park, Super Sport Park, Goodyear Park, Buffalo Park, De Beers Diamond Oval, Boland Park, City Oval, Willowmoore Park and North West Cricket Stadium were the stadiums that hosted the tournament in South Africa, Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club were venues to Cricket World Cup 2003 in Zimbabwe. Nairobi Gymkhana Club was the stadium that was a witness to one of the matches in the tournament.

The teams were divided into Group A and Group B. Australia, England, Pakistan, India, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Holland belonged to Group A whereas South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, New Zealand, Kenya, Bangladesh and Canada were put in Group B.

The Final was played between Australia and India on 23 March in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Australia batted first and made 359 runs in 50 overs losing only 2 wickets. In reply India made 234 after being all out in 39.2 overs. Australia were crowned champions after beating India by 125 runs. Scores:

This was the seventh world Cup tournament and was held from May 14 to June 20, 1999.

This was primarily hosted by England but it was also held in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. Twelve teams took part in the tournament in which 42 matches were played.

This tournament has a similar group stage format to in 1996, though there was a dramatic change in the second stage, where a "Super Six" round replaced the quarter-finals

One of the greatest matches in the ICC World Cup history was the Australia and South Africa tied game in their semi-final.

The main venues of the tournament include the Lord's Stadium in London, County Ground at Hove, County Ground at Taunton, VRA Cricket Ground at Amstelveen in the Netherlands, County Ground in Worcester in England, County Ground in Chelmsford, St Lawrence Ground at Canterbury, County Ground in Northampton, Grange Cricket Club at Edinburgh in Scotland, Sophia Gardens at Cardiff in Whales, Riverside Ground at Chester-le-Street in England, Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds, County Ground in Southampton, Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, Trent Bridge at Nottingham, County Cricket Ground at Birmingham and Castle Avenue at Dublin in Ireland.

The concept of Super Six was introduced in this tournament. The teams were divided into Group A and Group B. The top three from each group were qualified to play in the Super Six matches where each of the three teams from Group A had to face the three teams from Group B. The top four teams in the Super Six matches participated in the semi finals.

The final was played between Australia and Pakistan at Lords, London. Australia made 133 runs in 20.1 overs for 2 wickets, in reply Pakistan made 132 All out in 39 Overs. Australia won by 8 Wickets.
